We are off to a great start this school year. Our classrooms are bustling with activity already! Our Instagram has been dormant since June but is up and running once again to showcase student learning.
This week brings our first School Council meeting. Please consider attending a meeting. It is a great way to connect with other parents and to learn more about the school.

Updates and Information:
The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series on supporting child and youth well-being. The series is hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with local experts from the Calgary community.
Attached to this email is a poster with sessions designed to provide families with knowledge, tools, and strategies to help navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today. Along with the poster, additional session details are available on our corporate website: Child and Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Series.
Safety Reminders – Parking & Bicycles, Dogs, Etc.
Thank you to everyone for keeping safety top of mind when dropping off and picking up your children. Just a friendly reminder that we encourage you to use the angled parking in the north lot for quick drop-offs and pick-ups, and to use street or community centre parking if you prefer to park and walk your child around the school.
Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades are not permitted to be used on CBE property at any time. While these are great ways to stay physically active while traveling to and from school, they need to be walked once you are on school property. We have bike racks for student use at the northwest side of the school. Adults, please help us promote safety by modeling walking your bikes while on school property, too!
We love dogs (and all pets)... but they are not permitted to be on school property. If you walk your furry friend with you to school, they must stay with a parent off school grounds. Thank you!

From School Council:
The first meeting of the 2026-27 School Council will be Thursday, September 17th at 6:30 in the library. All parents/guardians of Riverbend students are automatically members and are encouraged to attend a meeting.

Ordering information went home this week on a blue paper notice and is linked here. The first ordering deadline is Tuesday, September 15th for popcorn snack delivered on Wednesday, September 23rd.
