First Day of Classes
The school office opens on Wednesday, August 26th at 9:00 AM. Office hours for August are:
Wednesday, August 26 - 9:00-2:30
Thursday, August 27 - 8:00-2:30
Friday, August 28 - 8:00-1:00
Grade 1-6 Students
The first day of school on Monday, August 31 will be a regular school day for all grades 1 through 6 students.
Staggered Entry - Kindergarten Students Only
For the first day of school on Monday, August 31, 2026, we will have a staggered entry for kindergarten. This means that half of the students will come from 8:00-9:20 and the other half will attend from 9:40-11:00.
- Students whose last name starts with A-M will attend from 8:00-9:20
- Students whose last name starts with N-Z will attend from 9:40-11:00
Please meet the teachers at the bottom of the ramp by the south-east doors for drop-off and pick-up.
Classroom Assignments
Prior to the first day of school, you will receive a personalized email from your child’s teacher introducing themselves and providing you with information and instructions regarding the first day of school. This email will come to you by 10 AM on Aug. 28, 2026.

Lunch Supervision
Riverbend School offers a 4-day Lunch Supervision program to all Grade 1-6 students as a user-pay service. All students staying for lunch must be registered. Please visit our Lunch Supervision page for more details.

Fees & Waivers
Fees will be charged to your MyCBE account beginning in October.
Transportation
Yellow School Bus Transportation
If you reside outside of Riverbend School's walk zone and inside our designated area, you may be eligible for yellow school bus transportation as a user-pay service. See our Busing page for further detail.
Parking
Parents may use the north angled parking for pick-up and drop-off of students. To park and walk your child to the compound, please use the Riverbend Community parking lot or street parking. No drop-offs or pick-ups in the east staff lot please.

School Supplies
Students should have a clean pair of running shoes suitable for physical education that can be kept in their classroom, a lunch (if the student stays for lunch), water bottle and a snack. There is no supply list for Riverbend School. Supplies will be provided to students through parent-paid fees (see section below, "Fees and Waivers"). A backpack is recommended for personal belongings that is large enough to fit a picture book, lunch/snack and water bottle inside.

Yearbook
Yearbooks are offered for sale in the spring. This is an optional purchase for families.
Off-Site Activities
Keep updated on field-trips and other exciting off-site activities throughout the year. We're excited to expand on learning opportunities by stepping outside of the classroom.
