There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. In our school, this can include providing in-kind donations, contributing cash and lending expertise and technical knowledge. Connect with our principal on what may be appropriate. Casino

A casino is held every eighteen months with all the proceeds going towards supporting student learning at Riverbend. We would like to extend a big thank you to all of the volunteers and their families, who made our casino event a success. Our casino is a major fundraiser for the school.  Funds raised will be used towards program-related equipment, resource materials, field trip transportation, and development programs. 

Did you know that the casino is the single biggest fundraiser for Riverbend School?  Our next Casino will be in 2025 (date TBD) and we need volunteers to help make it possible.


Cookie Dough Sale

This fundraiser usually takes place in October/November and is our second biggest fundraiser with proceeds of sales going directly to support Riverbend School student learning experiences.


Bottle Depot and Skip the Depot

You can donate your bottle recycling proceeds to the Riverbend School account set up with Marklan Bottle Depot by the Glenmore Inn (2842 Glenmore Trail SE ) or at Deerfoot Bottle Depot (in Douglasdale) or at the South Pointe Bottle Depot (5126 126 Ave SE ).  Just let them know at the counter when you are checking out.

Ways to give to our school include:

Monetary (cash) Donation
  • I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
    • Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
    • Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters  (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
  • I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
    • ​Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education  and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.
