Welcome back! Winter Break has drawn to an end and classes have resumed. Mother Nature has reminded us that the weather is beyond our control as we dip into chilly temperatures. It serves as a reminder that winter is here and, as Calgarians, we should be prepared for anything! Please dress appropriately for the weather no matter what the temperature. Despite the nip in the air, it was wonderful seeing excited faces entering the building and quickly getting down to work.

With snow on the ground and ice on the streets, please be cautious driving in and around the school area. When the temperatures drop, students are often more concerned with staying warm than watching for traffic. Please watch out for our kids!

January sees the opening of Kindergarten registration for the 2024-2025 school year. Registration is online and will be open on Monday, 15 January 2024. If you have a child to register for kindergarten or know someone in Riverbend who does, please encourage them to register as soon as they can.

During the month, our students in Grades 4, 5, and 6 will be participating in the Swim for Life program at Canyon Meadows Pool. Our students always look forward to this break in routine and to participate in an activity that they can really dive into.

As January starts, I would like to wish all members of our Riverbend community a Happy New Year and all the very best for 2024!
