We are very excited to begin our place-based learning residency with Jenn from Yellow Steps this week! Classes will meet Jenn on Thursday as we prepare for our outdoor learning December 1-9.

Teachers will be reaching out directly if they require volunteers as we will be out and about in the community, taking our learning outdoors! Families can help prepare by making sure students are dressed for the weather, as we will be working outdoors. Magic gloves, those stretchy little ones that we all seem to have lying around, will be great for this work as they allow fingers to stay warm and moveable for printing and drawing activities.

We also have parent-teacher conferences this week. Please make sure you book an appointment during this time we have set aside to meet with your child’s teacher. Instructions were sent via email and paper. If you are having difficulty booking, please contact the office.

It appears our theme this week is volunteering! There are many requests for your time in the next few weeks. We appreciate your support!

From School Council:

Casino Fundraiser

URGENT!!! 15 Volunteers Needed

Casinos are the largest fundraiser a school can participate in.  Each shift is equivalent to a $2000+ donation; your time is one of the largest financial donations you can make towards helping the Riverbend school.  Participating schools are eligible every 18 to 24 months to host a casino, failure to fill these slots will result in the school losing this fundraiser.   We have already reached out to the community for volunteer assistance, we need more parents to lend their time to this great money-making opportunity.

Please consider signing up for a shift.
