Yee-haw! Tuesday’s Stampede Caravan breakfast was another successful event brought to us by our very own School Council. Even the rainy weather couldn’t slow us down – we moved the event inside and it went smoothly. Thank you to all the Riverbend and Stampede volunteers who helped with pancakes, field trips and more this week!

On Monday, June 22, we will share some songs to acknowledge National Indigenous Peoples Day and the Summer Solstice on the 21st. Details below. See you there!

Updates and Information:

Grade 6 Transitions

Our Grade 6 students had the opportunity to visit Sherwood School to learn more about the exciting opportunities that await them next year. During their visit, students explored parts of the school, met several teachers, and had the chance to connect with future Grade 7 classmates. Students have brought home a list of available Grade 7 option courses to review with their families. Within the next couple weeks, they will be selecting their preferred option classes.

Raccoona - Activity Day

Raccoona will be held on Friday June 19th, from 9:00-11:00am.  Students will enjoy a variety of different stations, staying active, enjoying the outdoors, and showing positive sportsmanship.  The entire morning will be spent outdoors, so please send your child to school with a labelled water bottle, hat and sunscreen.

We are looking for parent volunteers to help run the different stations.  If you are able to volunteer, please contact your child’s teacher through email.  We can’t wait to celebrate the end of the year with a fun-filled morning!

Bicycle Safety

We love to see the kids riding bikes to school! Just a reminder that bikes are to be walked when on school grounds for safety. Please ensure all bikes are locked up at the racks near the learning garden.

Morning Arrival

We appreciate students arriving on time for classes, however, please do not drop students off too early! Teachers are on supervision starting at 7:45 a.m. If your child wishes to come to school earlier, a parent must be present for supervision until 7:45.

Outdoor Music Assembly

On June 22nd at 1:30, weather permitting, we will be hosting an informal outdoor singing assembly on our school field. Families are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the performance with us.  We will be assembling on the hill just south of the Riverbend playground. Audience members can set up on the flat area near the bike path.

MyCBE Account & Fees

Just a reminder to please check your MyCBE account and clear up any outstanding fees prior to the end of June.

From School Council:

Our meetings have wrapped up for this year, but please mark your calendars for September 17th at 6:30, our first meeting for the 2026-27 school year. The fall 2026 Council dates are now on our school website calendar
