Welcome to the final week of the 2026-27 school year. This year’s theme has been flexibility! We have pivoted many times in many ways, said goodbye to some staff and welcomed new members to our team. Throughout it all, we continue to have a strong and vibrant school community of students, staff, School Council and families who come together every day to make our school the amazing place of learning that it is. Our gratitude goes out to all of you!

Report cards will be available for viewing from Thursday, June 25th through Friday, July 31st via your MyCBE account.

This will be the final weekly message of the year. Our Back-to-School information is now live on our website, along with the 2026-27 instructional calendar, for those who want to see what next year holds.

Updates and Information:

Farewells

We are saying farewell to a few teachers and support staff this year. We thank them for their contributions to Riverbend – some have been here a long time, and some stepped in just this year, but they have all had a lasting, positive impact on students and their learning. Farewells go out to:

Teachers: Lindsey Bourgeois & Nazifa Hosaini

Education Assistants: Amanda Siu, Sophiya Syroid & Stefanie Kaiser

Office Assistant: Cara Boucher

We are welcoming a few familiar and new faces to our team for the fall:

Teachers: Sophia Davaris & Amy Wallace

Lunch Supervisor: Heather H.

We are fortunate to be adding a teaching position in the fall due to the Alberta government’s Class Size Reduction Grant. More information here: Class size reduction grant 2026-27.pdf

Yearbooks

We are hopeful that our yearbook shipment will arrive this week. If you missed the opportunity to order, we do have a few extras that will be made available for sale.

Yearbooks are $25. If you missed the deadline and would like to purchase one, here is the process:

  • Reply to this email with your child’s name who would like the yearbook. Limit of 1 per family.
  • Sales are exact change, cash only at the office, payable by Wednesday at 3:00.
  • Any unpaid yearbooks on the waitlist will be released to the next in line after 3:00 Wednesday.

In the event that the yearbooks do not arrive before the last day of school, we will distribute them in the fall. Student families who are moving on from Riverbend will be contacted via email to pick up.

Lost & Found

Items will be put out on the west compound, weather permitting, before and after school this week. Please have a look prior to our last day. All remaining items will be donated on Monday, June 29th.

Thank you and have a wonderful summer everyone!
