As we head into the final, busy few weeks of the school year, the warm weather has certainly arrived! Students have been enjoying more time outdoors for learning, play, and school activities, and it has been wonderful to see the energy and excitement around the building. Please help your child come prepared each day with a water bottle, sunscreen, appropriate outdoor clothing, and a hat for sun protection. We may also need raincoats and boots this week!

Updates and Information:

School Fees

As the school year comes to a close, we kindly ask that you please check your MyCBE account for any outstanding school fees and clear those up prior to the end of June.

Community Respect

We have received reports of students making unexpected choices in the evenings/weekends. Community members have expressed concerns, and we ask that families please speak with their children about being respectful and responsible while in the community.

Our street will be swept by the city on Wednesday, June 3. If you need to park at the school on this day for an extended period of time, please use either of our parking lots or the community centre so our road can be swept properly.

Raccoona - Activity Day

We are getting closer to our annual sports day celebration (known as Raccoona) at Riverbend School.  This year it will be held on Friday June 19th, from 9:00-11:00am.  Students will enjoy a variety of different stations, staying active, enjoying the outdoors, and showing positive sportsmanship.  The entire morning will be spent outdoors, so please send your child to school with a labelled water bottle, hat and sunscreen.  We are looking for parent volunteers to help run the different stations.  If you are able to volunteer, please contact your child’s teacher through email.  We can’t wait to celebrate the end of the year with a fun-filled morning!

Outdoor Music Assembly

On June 22nd at 1:30, weather permitting, we will be hosting an informal outdoor singing assembly on our school field. Families are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the performance with us.  We will be assembling on the hill just south of the Riverbend playground. Audience members can set up on the flat area near the bike path.

From School Council:

We are excited to welcome families to our Stampede Pancake Breakfast on June 2nd at 8:00 am! We encourage everyone to show their Stampede spirit by wearing western gear. A big thank you to the Stampede Caravan Committee for hosting this special community event, and to all our volunteers who make this event possible!
