We had a very exciting time last Friday with the cookie dough fundraiser pizza party. Thank you to parents Marianne and Zack for leading this important fundraiser, and to everyone who sold dough, worked behind the scenes to get the orders out and volunteered at the pizza lunch.

Grant Writing
Are there any writers out there who could assist in applying for a grant? We would love to replace some of the trees that have been removed from our Learning Garden and grounds, and we need your help! If there are any parents, neighbors or community members out there who are passionate about improving the green spaces, please contact Mrs. Poole. (dmpoole@cbe.ab.ca)
Riverbend Calendar & Website
We strive to have all school-wide events listed on our website. Check it out here. Also, if you miss receiving a Sunday weekly email, or an extended family member would like to know what is happening at the school, our weekly message is posted to our website every Sunday morning as well.
Community Science Opportunity
**This is not a CBE-sponsored activity**
The Department of Earth, Energy, and Environment at the University of Calgary reached out to share this free science enrichment opportunity:
The EARTHx Speaker Series is hosting a Mars-themed event featuring Dr. Ben Tutolo, a planetary geoscientist whose research was recently featured on the cover of Science Magazine.
This event provides students with direct access to a working scientist whose research is shaping our understanding of Mars and planetary habitability.
The program includes two talks on the same day (January 29):
- an after-school, student-focused talk with Q&A (recommended for ages 8+) - 4:30-5:30pm
- a later, adult-focused talk (older students, parents, and community) - 7:00 pm
Both livestream and in-person options are available. (Evan Hazel Theatre - Brookfield Residential YMCA Seton)
More information and registration QR code can be found on the attached poster. Space is limited!
