Wow, it’s June already! Where did the year go? As we move into the final month of this school year, our grade six students will be writing PAT exams and preparing for the transition to junior high. We have field trips planned in many grades and Raccoona planning (our sports day) is underway. The lost and found collection is growing exponentially! Please have a look for any missing items. It would be great for everything to find its way back home before the end of the year.

Save the Date: Raccoona Friday June 20^th 

The planning and organization of Raccoona (our Sports Day) is underway. Our day will have a Beach Day theme, and students are welcome to wear their best beach attire (no swimsuits and please be mindful of sandals, as this is an activity day). 

We are looking for parent volunteers to help Friday, June 20 from 7:45–10:30 a.m. 

If you’re interested and have a valid school police clearance, please sign up here. We will reach out closer to the date with details. 

Warm Weather:

With the beautiful weather, we will be outside a lot more, including picnic style lunches. Please ensure students bring hats and water bottles. 

Lost and Found:

We are hopeful that some lost items will find their owners. The lost and found will be put outside the front doors, starting on Monday morning. Please take a minute to pop by and take a look to see if anything belongs to your family.  

Instructional Hours & Bell Times 

It has come to my attention that there is some concern among families that we are losing instructional time with next year’s bell time changes. This is not the case. Each year, careful planning is done to ensure our schools meet the required number of instructional hours for each grade. Next year, our lunch break will be slightly shorter, from 45 minutes to 38 minutes to accommodate the new bell times.
