We have several events packed into the final two weeks of school including Raccoona (our sports day), trips to Carburn Park, popcorn snack, pizza lunch and a farewell celebration for grade six students. Our School Council has a parent education evening planned plus one final fundraiser for the year. Please keep an eye on the calendar and messaging from your child(ren)’s class for updates.

We have been keeping a close eye on the air quality and unfortunately we had to cancel two field trips this past week as well as have a few indoor recesses. Hopefully the air remains clear next week!

Many thanks to School Council for providing us with a delicious staff appreciation lunch on Friday!

The Magic Toybox – Spring Concert

The link to view this amazing performance was sent out earlier this week. Please check your email or contact Mrs. Poole if you require it re-sent to you.

Student Fees

Please check your MyCBE account to clear up any remaining field trip or activity fees from this year prior to June 27th

Kindergarten families – please do not pay the Leighton Art Centre fee at this time. We are investigating a reduced-fee option where the Leighton Centre visits us for an in-class activity in lieu of the cancelled field trip. Details coming next week.

Grade 2 Granary Road Field Trip

Unfortunately, we were unable to reschedule this trip given the short time we have left this school year.

Talent Show

Mr. Hall and Ms. Maclean are organizing a small talent show for the last day of school, June 27th at 8:30. Family of performers only are welcome to come watch this informal assembly.

All Sport One Day 2025

Last week at Riverbend, we had an assembly with Sport Calgary featuring Canadian Rower Karissa Riley! Karissa spoke to our students about the importance of hard work, believing in yourself and trying new things.

All Sport One Day is a fantastic, free sport discovery event designed specifically for children and youth aged 6 to 17. It offers a unique opportunity for young participants to try out a new sport or physical activity in a fun and supportive environment.

Whether your child is curious about learning a new skill or simply eager to get active, this event is an excellent way to introduce them to the world of sports without any financial commitment. By participating, kids can explore different sports, discover their interests, and potentially find a new passion, all while making new friends and staying active.

All Sport One Day 2025 will be held on Saturday, June 21 and Saturday, Aug. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m

Follow @SportCalgary on social media or sign-up for their newsletter for updates!

The orientation includes different stations for families to visit to learn more about route planning, fares, how to ride the bus or C-Train, safety features, rider etiquette and much more.

Sessions run every half-hour and last approx. 1 hour.

Session Dates and TImes

Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 5 – 8 p.m.
